The Carnegie Art Center (CAC) will host two exhibitions during the month of October. The Fiber Design Forum will have their members show “Expressions in Fiber” on display in the Rotunda Gallery while Michael Piniewski’s Astrophotography will be in the East Gallery. 

“Expressions in Fiber” is an exhibition that explores the work of the Fiber Design Forum (FDF) members. The FDF is a community of fiber artists with a wide range of skills and techniques that include stitching, weaving, quilting, dyeing, embroidery, and fabric painting/printing, knitting, crochet, and more. Inspiration comes from many sources; natural organic forms, history, figurative images, environmental issues, symbolism or personal experiences/emotions. The FDF meets monthly at the Carnegie Art Center to discuss this art form and share skills.

 

Michael Piniewski has been practicing Astrophotography for the past three years. He is inspired by astronomical objects, celestial events, and areas of the night sky that reveal the beauty of space. Piniewski will host a free artist talk on Thursday, October 17 at 6PM where he will discuss his process and artistic journey.

 

 There is a free opening reception Thursday, October 3, 6PM-8PM for both exhibitions. Additional viewing is available during regular gallery hours, Wednesday-Thursday 6PM-8PM, and Friday-Saturday 12PM-4PM. Gallery hours are free and open to the public.

Open call for 2025 submissions!

Exhibit in either our main Rotunda Gallery, our more intimate East Gallery, or both! We are looking for artists who would like to see their work professionally hung on our walls and displayed on our pedestals. Have an opening reception with us and an artist talk and get your work in front of new eyes!

Explore Collage with Jacob Kedzierski – October 15

Whether you’re just getting started as an artist and want to know more about how to use collages, or you’re looking to take your abilities to the next level and discover how to further your abstract art abilities, this workshop, taught by professional artist Jacob Kedzierski will help you advance your collage understanding and skills. No experience in collage necessary.

Bales & Ales Tasting Fundraiser

Join us Saturday, October 19 at a tasting fundraiser to benefit the Carnegie Art Center. Explore local vendors at your own pace while supporting the arts!

Tickets include tasting samples from participating beverage vendors, live music, and complimentary glass. Presale tickets are $30. Tickets at the gate are $35. Must be 21+ to attend. Every ticket purchased is an entry to win a private wine tasting for up to 6 guests at Freedom Run Winery! All proceeds to benefit the mission and programming of the Carnegie Art Center.

Join our Street Team!

Street Team members will be eligible for one pair of tickets to each event they volunteer to promote. The Carnegie Art Center is a 501c3 organization and is also able to provide community service hours for this activity.

Team members will be responsible for distributing promotional materials (flyers/posters/postcards) to local businesses, meeting places, and public billboards throughout Western New York. This role is a volunteer, part-time position and will be scheduled around the CAC’s event schedule.

Street Team members can expect to promote several times a year with higher priority on summer programming and Art Off the Wall (December).

Per the guidelines set by the State, the Carnegie Art Center can currently host private events in partnership with Webster’s Bistro. The Center is a perfect place to host a reception, bridal shower, baby shower or birthday event.
